Track Name: Genesis
I don’t need
I don’t
I don’t need to watch it all burn down

You must be busy
I’ll try back in an hour
These words that ring from my lips and write from my fingertips
Taste sour cause the truth has labeled you a
Coward
Hiding in question and time
Not helping but showing in perfect crimes
To invade and strike with aid of flight
Of flight

At arms holding the gates closed
I aim through the windows
Fire arrow after arrow through
The air so thin and stale
Pull out the pins and nail
Up the doors with the boards

No you’re not getting to me
Think again and you will see

I don’t need, I don’t need, I don’t need it

Hate’s a strong word but it seems applicable here
I hope it swells like a mad melody in your ear
Your eyes unfold your story so well
It plays through like a dance and shows your tells
I love you from the bottom to my heart but the top is still after you

Watch it all burn down

At arms holding the gates closed
I aim through the windows
Fire arrow after arrow through
The air so thin and stale
Pull out the pins and nail
Up the doors with the boards

No you’re not getting to me
Think again and you will see

I don’t need
I don’t
I don’t need to watch it all burn down
Track Name: The Fires Of 1918
What happened to the Eve I once knew?
Genuinely sweet as if the word “evil” has not merit here
But the knife would like to interject
From my back where it met its new home
(In skin and bone)

The knife tells me that there has been quite the talk
Back there and none of it has been anywhere near fair
A bullet to the head would have finished the job
But you just broke my legs and watched
As if both proud and unaware
Of the mutiny you just committed here
In the bowels of this ship

Murder, murder. You wrote the book on it

(Please no more)
(What happened to the Eve I once knew)
Then a cool breeze snaps me back to reality in time to see
Her black silhouette posed in the doorway
With no mess
(With no mess)
No mess on
That dress she’d never wear for me
Were you saving it for something better?
Is this that “something better”?!
(I still don’t know what upset her)

Tell me just what went threw your head
Was it something one of us lower people said?
(A new tune decided to chime)
(Or was it there the whole time?)
An old bloody handprint on the wall
Too small to be mine
(Too small to be mine means…)
I’m not the first one…

Murder
(Murder)
You shot my ship down
(You wrote the book on it)
As if to say

I want you, I want you, I want you
To stay at sea forever!

You want the world!
You want the world
But you can’t have mine.

Murder
(Murder)
You shot my ship down
(You wrote the book on it)
As if to say
Track Name: Just Like Me
A hollow state of mind I’m in
Replaying promises and sins
A hole I dug too deep
Lost in the forest
Branches wind within

I am lost…

A hollow state of mind I’m in
Oh it’s a dark one
In a cold alley I was framed
This fire remembers everything
It may remember but it’s doomed to die
In the care of the night

Welcome to the sleep
Welcome to the slumber
Could anyone be
Just like me?

I’m welcomed back
Though it’s unclear if welcomed or just back
In the back of my head
Screaming everything said

Welcome to the sleep
Welcome to the slumber
Could anyone be
Just like me?

You make monsters of men
Just like me
Track Name: Under The Weather
I remember years of childhood saying
“This is all I want to do”
Oh how foolish
Where did all those dreams go?
I think I lost them
Somewhere along the way

I remember putting them in hands that didn’t care at all
But attached to them were faces that reassured me that they did
Shame on me for believing
Should have known the tempter is no friend
Shame on you for deceiving
It’s still my fault in the end

So I left them in the care of hands that lie
As I turned away I saw them slide
Even in this ever-slow moment that this made
There still wasn’t enough time
For me, for me to catch them before they
Hit the floor

(Who are you?)

(You would think I would learn)

You’d think I’d learn
I must have done this a thousand times by a thousand times

It’ll no longer sing its song
There’s too many pieces gone
No adhesive is strong enough
It stands of a moment but breaks when touched
Can’t get it back together
I’m under the weather
Track Name: The Death Of A Man
I’m a mess and a wreck
I can’t believe I didn’t see this before
I’ve been bouncing from bad idea to bad idea
Oh no

This cold air has been playfully nipping at my skin
But with each bite it has gotten less and less playful

I can breathe a little bit but
It’s so very shallow
I don’t want a little bit I
I want the whole thing
My hand’s been over my mouth for so long I’m
Finding out that I’m my own worst enemy

Let’s burn this city down no it mustn’t stand so tall anymore
(I want to see the night sky paint with flames and for)
This pulling moment you’ll deal and I’ll be all in
I’m living the sensation that my skin is on too tight
(I don’t have the drive, courage, will to fight it)
I see the play’s in your hands
This is the death of a man

I feel I miss the sun
I haven’t seen the sun
(Because these buildings I built are so tall they)
In all these years
(Block the sun and the hand of God)

Buildings of a city built on hopes and dreams
Hopes and dreams that were selfish and corrupt from the beginning
Over time they lose their luster and shine
Consequently I begin to lose mine

There was once green
There was once sun
There was once life
Oh God
What have I done?

I’ve made a mess of my own life
I’ve got no more fight in me
I don’t want to be in charge anymore

((Like) Chloroform knock me down to the floor)

Let’s burn this city down no it mustn’t stand so tall anymore
(I want to see the night sky paint with flames and for)
This pulling moment you’ll deal and I’ll be all in
I’m living the sensation that my skin is on too tight
(I don’t have the drive, courage, will to fight it)
I see the play’s in your hands
This is the death of a man
Track Name: When The Lights Burn Out
I believe in a god who is more than myself.
Track Name: Above The Noise
I hate to say it
But it looks as if

If I lose the battle can I still we the war?
If I stare it in the face will I freeze up completely?
Has it grown into the root of me?
Where is the strength to put it out, to pull it up?
I’m giving in

I hate to say it
But it looks as if

If I lose the battle can I still win the war?
If I lose this one will I still be alive?
Shake the hell out of me
So that only the glow of heavens remains

Tear it out
Tear it up tear it out
You can’t just cut the surface out
To make the cut you must break some ground

I hate to say it
But it looks as if

If I lose the battle can I still win the war?
If I lose this one will I still be alive?
Shake the hell out of me
So that only the glow of heavens remains

I hate to say it
But it looks as if I’m giving in

Can’t get above the noise
I’m giving in

Breathe in breathe out
No you’re not that far away
Am I lost?
Oh Son, No you’re not that far away
Track Name: Error & Cost
Forget about the patching
And rebuilding all that’s damaged
To sail the seas again we must forgive and forget
(Know we were lost)
Forget about the patching
(At sea with frost)
And rebuilding all that’s damaged
(taking the lives of the crew)
To sail the seas again we must put to rest the pride
Of every man aboard

The sun extends its hands
And lights once darkened lands
Illuminating that we are lost in our error and cost

We have no one to blame but ourselves
We’ve been playing this game
For so long we’ve distorted to turns of these events
(Know we were lost)
So forget about the patching
(At sea with frost)
And rebuilding all that’s damaged
(taking the lives of the crew)
To sail the seas again we must forgive, forget

The sun extends its hands
And lights once darkened lands
Illuminating that we were lost in our error and cost

The sun
(cost)
Eliminates cost
Track Name: It's Hard To Swim With Your Hands Tied Back
I’m burying the hatchet
Why repair old bridges when you can build new
Throwing away matches
Sorry to the world I consumed

Molt into new skin.
To the sky!

If I’m burying the hatchet
And if I hold the keys
To the world you seek
Blame it all on me

Molt into new skin.
To the sky
(I forgive and forget)

(Say you will)
Track Name: Exodus
I’ve come across a strange day, one I thought not of until it came where I felt beckoned to pick up and go. This beckoning is not push. It’s pull to a sky so vibrant and full of color and power. As if one vast blooming flower made time slow to make minutes hours. As I wondered at the sky I must have lost my grip to ground for as I eye my footing I found to be divorced from soil, sound. Which strayed away while its color fades in blacks and grays. As if gazing through thick rains I strain my eyes to watch its shape crumble and give way.

A familiar quality as if home after a long holiday where time ever-stole my memory of this path I once roamed but in the opposing tone of life and new beginnings.

Hallelujah
Heaven sing with me a song of rejoice
Come on sing with me a song of rejoice

Amazing grace how sweet that sound that saved a retch like me.
I once was lost but now I am found. Was blind but now I see.
